Los Alamos Schools

If you are looking for a community where you and your children can receive a top-notch education, The Los Alamos Public School District is one of the strongest school districts in America.

In 2013 the high school had eight semifinalists for the 2014 National Merit Scholarship competition. 49% of students participate in AP classes. This year the Washington Post added LAHS to its 2013 “America’s Most Challenging High School” list and the US News & World Report and Newsweek included Los Alamos in their top high schools for 2013.

The district has 5 elementary schools (Aspen Elementary, Barranca Mesa Elementary, Chamisa Elementary, Piñon Elementary and Mountain Elementary), one middle school, and one high school.
