Born in Oklahoma City, I spent my youth in a rural environment in southern New Mexico and west Texas. After college at the University of Oklahoma, where I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in English, I moved to Colorado where I spent the next 35 years. There I worked as a title person in the oil and gas industry, owned and operated my own restaurant, was on the governor’s staff and worked as a legal assistant. Also I earned a second bachelor’s degree in Film Studies from the University of Colorado at Boulder. After Colorado, I spent a few years in Vancouver, British Columbia and Bellingham, Washington. It was in Bellingham where I began my career as a realtor, which lasted until I moved to New Mexico where I picked it up again. During my youth on a dairy farm between Hobbs and Lovington, I grew to love all animals. Also I leamed how to speak Spanish from a Mexican family who worked there. Later, in high school and college, I took classes in Spanish and have taken intensive Spanish courses in Guatemala and Mexico. I lived in Central America a number of years and there I was able to absorb myself completely in the Spanish-speaking world. Today I am fluent in reading, writing and speaking Spanish and, being an English major, am well-acquainted with the English language which does help with the voluminous forms involved in every transaction. Also I make furniture and paint retablos through the programs at Northem New Mexico College in El Rito. I have been an avid photographer all my life, and though I lament the demise of 35mm photography am doing my best to cope in the digital age.
All the experience I have had in my lifetime has prepared me to be a really good realtor. Real estate combines the things I love most — people and property. My greatest talent is listening to my clients. Whether you are a buyer or a seller, I will listen to what you have to say. Then I will provide you with the latest market information to help guide you in making a realistic decision on how to proceed. The most important thing in life, and especially in the field of real estate, is honesty. That is my specialty and I will be honest with you even if it hurts!
I live in a tiny mountain town north of Ojo Caliente where I irrigate my timothy hayfields and take care of various animals. Although I am experienced in every type of property I specialize in properties north of Santa Fe, especially irrigated ones. I believe that water is the most important element on earth, and I understand the operation and conveyance of water rights. I also am experienced in solving septic dilemmas and understanding surveys. If you want a knowledgeable, friendly and experienced realtor, give me a call.
